The journal was founded in 2004 as the Rutgers Journal of Law & Urban Policy.[2] In 2006, it officially changed its name to Rutgers Journal of Law & Public Policy.
The Rutgers Journal of Law & Public Policy has become a premier forum for articulating the vital intersections between the law and public policy. Grounded in the ever-deepening awareness that interdisciplinary investigation is crucial to an understanding of both the law and our culture, the Journal provides a unique intellectual arena for encounters between law and a variety of disciplines.[3]
